Of all the trees I have ever met, you are my favorite. “Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky.” ~Kahlil Gibran. This stately tree is called the “Treaty Oak.” Some say she is 800-years old, while others say a mere 200. In the early 1960’s the Treaty Oak was saved from destruction when Jessie Ball duPont purchased the land around the tree and donating it for the park that now bears her name.
