Day One out with the new rig was as a balmy 75° on New Year’s Eve. Over the four days we were in the park the temperature dropped below freezing. We went from t shirts and shorts to puffies and wool caps. Big temperature swings and RV’s don’t mix well. Once the tornado warnings went up, I asked Bill if we could relocate to a hotel… a very sturdy hotel… with a basement. Gratefully Bill obliged. Raising Caron and Jack I was always so cautious. I felt the weight to make sure I was around to help provide for them physically, emotionally, and financially. But now that they have successfully launched (and launched well) I feel the need to adjust my perspective. What was once “safety above all” has become “safety third”. FIRST comes RELATIONSHIPS. Relationship with our Creator, relationship with self and self-care, relationships with family and friends, relationships with coworkers and clients, relationships with people I have yet to know. SECOND comes EXPERIENCES. Trying to not fear the unknown and being bold in my choices. Only after that, does SAFETY come into play. This does not rule out overnight stays in a hotel… but working hard to keep it all in perspective and live fully.
